Expect straightforward mends (like darning denim jeans and stitching elbow patches) to take 1-2 weeks, while more complicated projects (like full jacket transformations) may take up to a month.
Pick up and enjoy your newly mended clothes
Once I’m done mending, I’ll send you an electronic invoice. Once paid, pick up your newly mended items wherever you dropped off—at The Notch or Maydel. There’s no payment at pickup. If you’re not local, I’ll send them back with a tracking number!
Once you’ve received them, I’d love to hear from you! I’m always looking to improve—and I love to know when you’re happy with the final result.

Take a look at the process
The mending process begins with choosing colors and mending techniques; in this case, darning with earthy green yarns.
This lightweight shirt was worn all the way through at the elbow.
Darning starts with parallel lines of yarn or thread that weave through the surrounding fabric to evenly fill the space where the hole used to be.
I used a similarly lightweight fabric to patch up the hole. Here is the sleeve inside out, where the patch will be hidden on the inside of the sleeve.
This crotch repair began with basting (loosely stitching) and pinning a backing fabric to the inside of the pants.
Horizontal yarns weave in and out to create a solid fabric.
Simple running stitches hold the patch to the sleeve. On the outside, these yellow lines will blend in with the yellow lines of the plaid.
This client wanted the mend to stand out, so I mimicked the unique zigzag stitching details of the pants by first drawing our design in chalk.
The final design honors the geometric stitching of the original pant design.

This client gave us full creative control, so I decided to showcase the mend by continuing but warping the plaid lines.
Machine stitching over the chalk lines.
The final mend. I left the worn out threads of the garment loose at the client's request.
